Now that you have your Common Access Card (CAC), you're able to take advantage of several powerful tools that will enable you to manage your benefits and official records. This section in your Onboarding Guide will introduce you to these career management tools.
 
Note: You have 90 Days from your Entrance on Duty (EOD) to apply for most of your benefits. If you miss this opportunity, you will not be able to apply again until Open Season (see each benefit's website for Open Season dates).

Records Management Tools

myPay Civilian Pay Account

The myPay tool gives you direct access to your Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) pay records, and allows you to make certain changes. Here are the features of the myPay system:

  • View and/or print your Leave and Earnings Statements (LES)
  • Update your pay allotments
  • Update your Address of Record
  • Update your direct deposit information
  • Print your W-2 forms
  • Manage travel vouchers

myBiz Personnel Records Portal

The myBiz portal connects you with the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS). Once you have logged on and set up your account (CAC required), you will need to click on the "Navy region" link to access your data. On the Department of Defense (DoD) main page, you will find not only a link to the myBiz tool, but also a list of useful links to a wide variety of information, tools (like myPay) and forms.

Click on "myBiz" to be able to:

  • View your personal information
  • Update your personal information
  • Obtain employment verification
  • Create a Performance Plan (Not Used by HQMC)

Under "My Information," you can view records of:

  • Your current appointment
  • Your position
  • Your personal employment information
  • Your salary
  • Your benefits
  • Your awards and bonuses
  • Your performance ratings
  • List of Personnel Actions with links to SF-50s

Through "myBiz," you can update your information regarding:

  • Your work address and phone number
  • Your disability status
  • Your language proficiencies
  • Your ethnicity and race
  • Your education
  • Your training
  • Your certification and licenses
  • Your awards and bonuses

Total Workforce Management System (TWMS)

TWMS is a Department of the Navy (DON) sponsored tool that allows you to view and update certain aspects of your personal record.

You will need to request a TWMS account by contacting the TWMS website (CAC required) at https://twms.nmci.navy.mil. Click on the link marked, "Click here for an Account Application" and complete and submit the form. You will automatically be granted access to your own personal records. If you require access to a higher level (e.g.: HRO/HRSC level access), contact your Supervisor for instructions. You will be notified when your TWMS account has been activated.

Here are some of the features that you can access through your TWMS account:

  • General Information: View your official record
  • Benefits/Leave Info: Information from DCPDS (myPay) regarding your Pay, Leave, and Benefits
  • Training/Education/Certifications & Sills: A list from DCPDS (myBiz) of your training and certifications
  • Personal/Recall Information: Allows you to enter and update some personal information
  • Security Clearance Information: A listing of your current security clearance status
  • SF-50s/Work History: Provides a list (most recent to earliest) of all your personnel actions (SF-50)
  • IA Workforce Info: Your information assurance records
  • Awards Info: A list of all your cash and time off awards
  • Online Training: Gives you access to required courses that are available through TWMS
  • Plus: other convenient links to various tools and services
